Australia's Most Easterly Point Captain Cook first spotted the most easterly point of the Australian mainland as he sailed past on the Endeavour in 1770. A walking track now winds its way up and around the cliff top, leading to an observation area and the Cape Byron lighthouse at its pinnacle.
